Young Investigator Award
Eligibility
- Authorship & presentation: You must be the first author and the designated presenter of the submitted paper.

Applicants must be either:
- A current Ph.D. student enrolled at the time of submission.
- or a Postdoctoral applicant who received their Ph.D. after 1 January 2023.
How to Apply

During abstract submission
- Select the Young Investigator Award option in the online form. -
Upload two separate PDF files (in addition to the abstract):

Application Form (single PDF, using the provided template) containing:
- Statement of Purpose (maximum 500 words) describing your research interests, motivation for applying, and future goals.
- Academic advisor’s signature confirming support.
- Curriculum Vitae (free format, up to two pages) listing education, publications, presentations, awards, and relevant experience. -
Graphical Abstract: one page (PDF) visually summarizing the submitted work.

Application Form (single PDF, using the provided template) containing:
All materials must be uploaded as part of the abstract-submission workflow; late or separate submissions cannot be accepted.
Evaluation & Award
The SPIE ABC 2025 Program Committee will assess the quality of the submitted paper, graphical abstract, and on-site presentation. Awardees will be notified when abstract-acceptance decisions are issued.
Obligations of Awardees
- Oral presentation: If selected, you will deliver an oral presentation in the dedicated YIA Session.
- Proceedings paper: You must submit a full manuscript for publication in the SPIE Digital Library by the stated proceedings deadline.
